Powder coating equipment
Powder coating is a special type of coating that is normally painted to get a comparative hard surface rather than liquid coating. As like the liquid coating, no solvent is required in the case of powder coating while spraying the powder to make a coat on any particular surface. In most of the times we have seen the use of thermoplastic element to be used through Power coating equipment and sometimes thermoset polymer has also been seen as another elements used to be delivered through Power coating equipment.
Power coating equipments are designed that can confirm the spraying of powder with electrostatic charged on top of any surface that is pre heated. Mainly spraying guns with special type are considered as Power coating equipment. We have seen the usage of two different types of spraying gun used as Power coating equipment. One is: Tribo charging gun and another is: Corona charging gun. When the powders are getting released throughout the barrel of the tribo charging gun, the friction of powder and the barrel produced an electrostatic charge. On the other hand, current from electrical power supply has been used to produce electrostatic charge in the corona charging guns. A container known as fluidized bed is also used as Power coating equipment where powder and air chamber has been placed at the bottom of these guns.
Sandblasting equipments are considered one of the most accepted powder coating tools that is required for sandblasted powder coat. Plastic, glass and wood are normally considered as common sandblasting equipment. Sandblasting media are also the important issue to use sandblasting method as powder coating. Depending on the desired texture and surface sandblasting media varies in many categories, like: media like corncob and walnut can be considered as preferred media for sandblasting for the beginners. Silicon carbide can also be considered as the hardest sandblasting media. For electrical and electromechanical equipments extra precautionary measures should be taken in order to avoid any damages of such sandblasting media.
Powder coating is now a commonly used and well accepted technology from personal to industrial use. The complete powder coating process comes with different steps. Prepare all the materials and equipments required for powder coating is the first priority, second comes the application process on how and under what condition, powders are stored and sprayed to the surface, then the remaining steps involved with electrostatic and magnetic coating and last of all it comes with curing.
