Dry ice blasting
Dry ice is nothing but a solid form of carbon dioxide. Under the criteria of abrasive blasting, dry ice blasting is a surface cleaning technology where dry ice comes with a forced sir pressure on top any surface to clean it. Propelling pallets are the core of any dry ice blasting machine. The pallets used in dry ice blasting are absolutely tiny and little in size like rice grains.
Compared to many other industrial and residential cleaning processes, dry ice blasting is better than many of them. Dry ice blasting is appropriate for cleaning normal mechanical machines, printing machine, vehicle engine. In order to remove oil, carbon black, paints and plastic residues. Dry ice blasting is very similar with the process and type of sand blasting. The cleaning mechanism of dry ice blasting is to transform the cold energy stored into dry ice pallets into strong kinetic energy when it comes with the tremendous force of compressed air on top of any surface. The perfect adjustment between the quantity of pallets and the force of the compressed air pressure gives the best result in the case of dry ice blasting. One of the major advantages of using dry ice blasting is that, the cold ice pallets have the easily dissolved characteristic in reaction with air.
For some exceptional cases, dry ice blasting are considered as the best cleaning method, for example, if any toxic element needed to be cleared from any surface, where the surface can not be damaged, parts (if available) of the surface can not be removed and environmental safety must be maintained.
Both single nozzle and double nozzle blasting machine has evolved to get the better result from dry ice blasting. As like sand blasting equipments, dry ice blasting equipments comes with the same structure. In a single nozzle machine, both compressed air and cold pallets have come with the same nozzle and sprayed on top of the surface. On the other hand, in double nozzle blasting machine, cold ice pallets came from one nozzle and compressed air came from another nozzle and sprayed on top the surface. Sand blasting equipments has some other material in the lower chamber of the machine but in ice blasting machine, cold ice pallets and compressed air are stored in the lower chamber of the machine.
Though sand blaster is effective in many such cleaning processes but when the comparison is in between sand blaster and ice blaster, ice blaster always comes with first priority for its effectiveness and easy to use approach.
